When I walked into Elise’s, everyone was a little surprised to see me with Thomas. He and Cristina went over to the other side of the room where Elis and Preston were watching TV. I went to the girls who were giving me curious glances.

“Okay, why is Thomas with you?” Elise asked.

I smiled. “Kevin and I are together.”

“What? Finally!” she exclaimed and gave me a hug.

“What about Jennifer? I know she and Kevin are done, but they’re still married,” Riana said.

I sighed. “That’s true. In fact, Kevin has already talked to his lawyer about filing for a divorce. If Jennifer decides to say he was the one who cheated in the marriage first, he could always contest it since she was the one who did.”

“That and the fact that the two are separated, so she can’t deny she was the one who cheated first,” Elise said.

“There’s something else. I admitted to Kevin that Cristina is his daughter.”

“About damn time!” Cheryl said and smiled.

“How did Kevin take it? And what about Thomas? How does he feel about everything?” Riana asked.

“Kevin was a little upset about it at first, but I think he understood why I did it. I did it because of Jennifer. He kind of knows what happened but I haven’t given him the details.”

“What did happen?” Elise asked.

“She tried to kill me when she found out Kevin was the father. She pushed me off the road, causing me to fall in the ditch near Winsburg.”

“Wow. That crazy bitch!” Elise said. “It’s like history repeating itself since someone tried to run her off the road too, but instead got her sister.”

“As for Thomas, he doesn’t know we’re together, but he took the news about Cristina well. They both did. ”

“That’s good to hear,” Riana said.

“There is a slight issue though. You all know Alicia, right?”

“Yeah, that’s Kev’s assistant,” Elise said.

“He slept with her.”

The three gave surprised looks while Elise handed me a glass of wine.

“Wow, that doesn’t sound like Kev. Well, a lot of things he’s been doing lately hasn’t been like him,” Elise said.

“Especially sleeping around with someone he works with. He knows better than that,” Cheryl said.

“I think he was upset over what happened at the hospital and he wanted to get his mind off it all. Anyway, I hope this doesn’t come back on him,” I said.

“I hope not either. I see the way Alicia looks at him. She has a thing for him and she thought that was an opportunity to be with him. Does she know he doesn’t want to be with her?” Cheryl asked.

“He told her and he said she seemed cool about it.”

“You don’t believe that, do you?” Elise asked.

“Not for a second. If I know anything about a woman scorned, she’s coming after him.”

“Hell yeah she is, especially when she knows the man she wants is with someone else,” Cheryl said.

“You think that’s what happened to Jennifer? She probably messed with someone’s man and that person wanted her dead,” Elise said.

I sighed. “With Jennifer, anything is possible.
